My Writing Journey: How It All Began

Discovering My Passion

Every experience in my life has shaped me into the writer I am today.

I've always believed that everyone is born with talents or skills; it’s just a matter of discovering them. While some people realize theirs later in life, I found mine early. My gift was writing.

It all started because I was a reader. I read everything I could get my hands on, novels, short stories, flash fiction, articles, and more. Reading was my favorite hobby, and I took great pleasure in it. The more I read, the more my passion to write grew. It was like a flame that couldn’t be quenched.

So, I began to write.

I would gather pieces of paper, bind them into little books, and let my imagination pour onto the pages.

After some time, I completed my first book, titled Sorrow’s Pathway

It was a wonderful experience. I pulled ideas from books, movies, and real-life moments. I kept crafting stories and sharing them with friends. Some scenes made them laugh, cry, or feel upset, and I loved that. Seeing my stories stir emotions and getting positive feedback brought me pure joy.

This passion led me to study English and Literary Studies at the University of Nigeria. That decision opened my eyes to the literary world. I learned about writing techniques, styles, research, and critical thinking. I also discovered writers who inspired me to pursue writing professionally.

That’s how I transformed from a hobby writer into a professional one.

I created my personal brand on LinkedIn and began honing my skills. Then I discovered Medium, and it quickly became a space where I could share my work. Substack, Twitter, and various writing communities also became part of my writing and learning journey.

Despite having these platforms, I still felt the urge to create something personal, a blog of my own.

My goal is to teach, educate, and inspire, especially aspiring writers. I want this blog to be a home for those who need direction, advice, tips, tricks, motivation, and inspiration.

It’s a dream come true.
I’m happy to share my writing journey with you, and I’ll keep sharing more along the way.

Thanks for reading my story!
